Product Description

Details

Like new probably never used sought after Leica M6 Platinum 150 Jahre Optik limited edition set with 50mm f1.4 Summilux lens.

For the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Carls Kellner's Optical Institute (forerunner of Leitz) in 1849 Leica Camera issued 150 platinum plated M6 cameras. Each camera is engraved with one of the years from 1849 to 1999 together with "150 Jahre Optik" and the name and optical diagram of the matching lens of the set. This set is engraved with 50mm f1.4 Summilux-M and the special limited number 1926.

In total 5 different sets have seen made:

- Leica M6 Platinum + 50mm f2.8 Elmar-M (1850-1879)
- Leica M6 Platinum + 50mm f2 Summicron-M (1880-1909)
- Leica M6 Platinum + 50mm f1.4 Summilux-M (1910-1939)
- Leica M6 Platinum + 35mm f2 Summicron-M (1940-1969)
- Leica M6 Platinum + 35mm f1.4 Summilux-M (1970-1999)

The cameras are covered with grey snakeskin and are presented in a very nice polished nut-tree root-wood box.

These sets are not offered often. Don't mix this set up with the more common Leica M6 Platinum 150 Years Photography. This set is extremely rare. As said it is in like new condition and complete. Complete with body cap, lens caps, strap, papers, presentation box and inner box. Camera itself of course no visible signs of use at all. Maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The set is also offered in another configuration with the Leica 35mm f2 Summicron-M lens.
